About the ingredients . . .
Glucosamine and Chondroitin
Glucosamine and chondroitin are both produced naturally in the body where they serve two main purposes: 1) build healthy new cartilage, and 2) inhibit enzymes that are destructive to the joints, thereby preventing deterioration. The production of glucosamine and chondroitin decreases with age, causing the cartilage to break down more quickly than the body can heal and renew it.

Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)
MSM is a natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic. It supplies sulfur to the body, which can be used for the treatment of osteoarthritis, allergies, and digestive disorders. (In arthritic cartilage, the concentration of sulfur is about one-third the level found in normal cartilage.) Studies in both people and animals receiving MSM showed improved joint flexibility, reduced stiffness and swelling, and reduced pain. Animals with rheumatoid arthritis who were given MSM showed no further cartilage degeneration.

Digestive Enzymes
Aid in absorption of essential nutrients and fatty acids. Enzymes are helpful for older pets and pets with immune disorders, poor coat, excessive shedding, skin problems, joint problems, allergies, and flatulence.

Probiotics
Help to maintain a balance of healthy bacterial flora in the stomach and intestines. Probiotics are extremely helpful during and after antibiotic treatment and are valuable on a daily basis for increasing absorption of nutrients in foods.
